Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Nail Snitch, a macOS menu bar app that uses your Mac's webcam and Apple Vision to detect nail biting (“the App”), operated by POLEN WORKS, UNIPESSOAL LDA, a company registered in Portugal (“we,” “us”). By installing or using the App, you agree to these terms.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Nail Snitch. If you are under 18, use the App only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Nail Snitch on Macs that you own or control, subject to the Apple Media Services Terms that apply to all Mac App Store purchases.
Purchases
Nail Snitch is sold as a one-time purchase through the Mac App Store. Apple processes payments, refunds, and cancellations. Refund requests go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the App, except where applicable law permits
- Use the App to surveil, record, or monitor other people without their knowledge and consent
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
Nail Snitch is designed for personal, non-commercial use on your own Mac.
AI and Detection Accuracy
Nail Snitch uses Apple Vision, an on-device machine learning framework, to estimate when a hand is near the mouth in a nail-biting posture. Detection is probabilistic. It will occasionally produce false positives (alerting when you are not biting) and false negatives (missing a real bite). The App is a habit-breaking aid, not a medical device. Do not rely on it for clinical, therapeutic, or safety-critical purposes.
“As Is” Disclaimer
The App is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will successfully reduce or end your nail-biting habit.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Nail Snitch and its creators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the App.
Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or terminate the license if you materially breach these terms.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, without regard to its conflict of laws rules, and subject to any mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence.
